9-6-10
The caves of our souls were open
Constantly lapped by salty waves
Our glistening, painted walls shining
In the moonlight
.
We were everything, once.
Eternal
.
We were two deer flitting through
A leafy autumn forest
The rustling beneath our hooves
Was an ancient song of longing
.
We were the trees, once.
Arching our backs to reach for the clouds
Which would fill our palms
With sweet morning dew
And our hearts would swell and burst
With the thousands of tiny worlds living inside us
.
Each thought
Each feeling
Each breath
A swirling galaxy far away
Tinted green and blue and pink
Colliding with another galaxy
Filled with life-
And sometimes,
When galaxies collide,
They explode
